Ellipsis (lips egg)
Rendered images of digital sculptures, 2020.
Created during the distance from gallery spaces that lockdown enforced, Ellipsis (lips egg) was a project exploring digital sculpture as an expression of how galleries might function in the future, i.e. as non-material spaces, and what 'bodies' might occupy them. Initially preoccupied with lips, as a sight hidden under face masks, I then became interested in procedurally generated textures, expressing the new societal rule to look rather than touch, due to contamination fears, and how we discern how something feels via visual clues as a result.
