Glass Scratch

Live performance, approx. 18mins, Queen Mary University of London, 2020.

Beginning with the smashing of a wine bottle with a hammer, Glass Scratch explored Queer Monstrosity and weaponising the threatened/threatening body through self-injury. After taping glass shards to my fingers and running them across my skin, I sang Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive to an audience just out of view, extending intimacy through celebration of my queer body and its resilience.

Originally performed at Queen Mary University of London, video documentation of this piece has been shown elsewhere as a looping projection, exploring the objectification and sterilisation of performance by gallery spaces.
