Dislocation
Photography series, in collaboration with Indigo Ayling, 2019.
During the Autumn of 2019, artist Indigo Ayling and I collaborated to create a series of images viewing chronic pain and fatigue through actions and body shapes. Seeking to express pleasure, beauty and intimacy in how Ayling converses with their body, the project was an exercise in witnessing and being witnessed.
The locations, actions and style of the photographs were the result of collaborative discussion, responding to each others’ visions. Prioritising collaboration over a traditional photographer-model framework, I wanted the series to embody Ayling’s philosophies and agency.
Dislocation was shown at Her-Pee's Presents: The Clinic in November 2019, and is available for exhibition elsewhere.
